Frequently Asked Questions

How is the start organised?
It will be a mass start, therefore you will need to get into position prior to the starting gun. If you think you are in with a chance, get to the front - if not, try and organise yourselves with quicker swimmers nearer the front and slower ones at the back
How do you marshall / ensure safety on a swim?
There will be support boats and kayaks with qualified life-saving personnel on hand. There will be a Race Briefing prior to the race, but if you have any problems it is standard procedure to lie on your back and raise your hand and you will be picked out the water as soon as possible.
Do I have to wear a wetsuit?
Yes this is mandatory for all our swim events, and it MUST cover the torso and thighs. It MUST NOT cover the hands or feet. BTF rules state that the wetsuit must not ne thicker than 5mm in any position (including where a patch-repair has been made. Non-triathlon wetsuits are not designed to be flexible around the shoulders and arms and will take on extra water so it is recommended you race in a triathlon wetsuit. You can purchase one now from our official partners Zone 3.
